What happens when non-technologists start blogging about technology and hacking?

Stupidity! – That’s what happens when non-technologists run technology blog, especially when they start talking about hacking et al.

A great example is the recent Y! India Local launch story that it has ‘already been hacked

For those bloggers who covered the story in the expectation of being dugg or TCed, here is a simple advice – atleast write a ‘Hello world’ program before you call yourself a technology blogger.

Least that one can do before blogging about such “breaking” story is to confirm it by self - sad that desperation to get the post out (asap) takes precedence over anything else (intelligence, if (!absent)).

Anyways, Happy Labor day (May 1st) – may all such great technology blogger go through labour pain and deliver tech babies! :D

Small update on the hack: The Yahoo local hack was actually quite a stupid thing and even though you could see the js being executed (thanks to firebug plugin), the same cannot be executed. I’d recommend tech bloggers to write some greasemonkey script, change the overall structure , upload that in Flickr and then make noise – otherwise screw your own a**.

they are also in a race to try and get maximum posts out, just to make some quick bucks. even i started writing for the same reason(one of the major ones) but after a few posts i realise that a good post is much to be proud about than a few cents from google adsense.

@mithun – nobody in particular, but i saw couple of blogs just taking the “hacking” story and talking about it – and all of these were “self-claimed” technologists!

Technologist, a person who is competent to perform technological work and the one who uses scientific knowledge to solve practical problems.

Just by knowing the products does not make one technologist.

watbloggers are not technologist, they are just bloggers thats why thier review dont have weightage and worthfull.
