The Worlspace radio connection in my house has stopped working from June 1st. 2010, inspite of my payment of subscription renewal for 2 trs. in time to yr bangalore office. Kindly advice me what I should do to either re-connect the same or get a refund, as I heard that you are no more in service in the broadcasting & that u are arranging re-embersement of all amounts paid, due to ur internal problems.
Kindly adive me for getting my 2 yrs. payment & oblige.

As per Suresh Srinivasan " Noah Samara" has purchased the assets of World Space Singapore. Is it going to start Satelite Radio in India?
Otherwise suggest any other satelite radio for India.

Thanks

Noah Samara has successfully bought back the assets of WorldSpace.

Court documents filed at the Delaware Bankruptcy Court state that Judge Peter Walsh approved the sale of the Worldspace assets to a company, Yazmi USA LLC, and controlled by Samara. The price was $5.5m.

Hi all,
I am a great fan of Indian evergreen songs from 50's through 70's....
so I brought the WorldSpace Specially for my mom and dad ...... my day used to start with radio farishta .... Awesome songs were aired .... specially as compared to the Free FM channels for whom the Ever green means 80s and 90s only ..... and their untolerable talks creates headache ..... I am really missing Radio farishta .... Someone pleaaaaaaaaaaasssssssse .......... buy world space rights for India for the sake of Indian music lovers ....... If I had been a millionaire I would have done it .....

Sir,
I am a fan of worldspace. For me every morning starts with Moksha channel. My house used to be filled with positive vibrations. I got enlightened by spiritual talks on Moksha channel.
Pl revive the operations in India.

19-5-2010.

I was really surprised at these feed backs. I was addicted to TOBACCO CHEWING for almost 20n years, which I got rid of after I subscribed to Wordspace in 2005. I used to listen to the world space channels - Shruthi, Gandharv, Jhankar, Farishta, KL,RM, ETC. The R.J's were really great in their presentation. Innovative and realistic (no artificiality). Some of the interviews in Shruti delved into the history of music that one had never heard of. In fact I feel very lonely and am low on morale after the music stopped. It is not the loss of subscription (I paid Rs.2,000/= for a 2 year renewal only on December 15th). The organisation did not have the courtesy to inform well in advance. Only the newspapers flashed it. ANYWAY I AM TOO MUCH INTERESTED IN ITS REVIVAL AT LEAST PARTIALLY. SOME OF THE INSIDERS WHO HAVE REAL INTEREST COULD PROBABLY FORM SOME SORT OF A CORE GROUP WHICH COULD PROBABLY TRY WAYS AND MEANS OF A REVIVAL. I WOULD LOVE TO BE A PART OF IT AND CONTRIBUTE WHAT LITTLE KNOWLEDGE I HAVE. I AM FINANCE AND ACCOUNTS MAN TOO. THE PROGRAMME WITHOUT THE ADS. WERE SIMPLY SUPERB.

They have had the odesity to even make it crystal clear to the subsriber base on the Indian Subcontinent that no reimbursement will be made to anyone of us. No way to take legal recourse against them as the Co has gone into liquidation and there is no one against whom any action can ow be taken, So just forget it and look ahead now.
WS is History.

I've lost the last flicker of hope that some day, maybe, I'll hear another broadcast by WS. I've been following all articles on the net and have been keeping in touch to see if there was any possibility of my sad HITACHI reciever singing at first break of dawn. But none.
I got me this set at the inception of WS in India when I heard WS music in a large new Mall in Pune, so I asked, found out, and got myself a piece of the latest technology, then.
At the time it used to be free-to-air. In mid 2005 they made all of them pay-channels. By then I was addicted to the channels along with my small family.
On 31st Dec 2009 I decided to come home from office and listen to my favourite channels loudly crossing into 2010, little knowing the fate that was to be met with. Sad, really sad. It was only on 1st Jan that I realised the crass reality of radio silence.I just can't gather myself to listening to all the crap FM stations !!! ever.
Fortunately the reciever set is a full radio system, with FM/MW/SW and WS too, but after the digital qlty of WS, I can't seem to want to hear anything else.ever.
My once outdated and obsolete CD's/ player all came out promptly from cold storage, still, I hardly hear the equipment.
I wrote to the US via e-mail to that fooolish indian there and recieved no response either. I've lost all hope in him, WOorldspace and everything that stands for satellite radio broadcasts
Feel like Ive been forcefully tornaway from all my favourite channels and heavily deprived.

Hi all Worldspace fans. I have been trying to persuade a friend of mine who owns a music company to take on the franchisee for worldspace. Hopefully he will explore the possibilities. If that does not work out then I would request all worldspace fans to form a group and approach the US company that owns it and persuade them to start the Indian operations again. Maybe that will motivate them to search for an Indian partner again. Even if it starts with adds I don't think it will be free. Ya they could start with channels with add and also premium channels for music lovers who dont want that nuisance. And man am I mad at these guys who were at the helm of marketing WS and botched it up. Any suggestions?

Abrupt stopping of the Worldspace transmission has put me to inconvenience and lss. The hardware has become useless. Compensate me adequately before I seek legal recourse.

Why can't the worldspace unit in India simply use all their content and programing and turn it into a web based, online radio station? With almost everyone now having net access on their phones this could have been a way for them to keep their programming going for their customers. Only now, they don't need to bother about receivers and satellites. All they need is a very good Internet connection. They cut their costs, introduce some advertising (in place on the web channel) and can easily monetize their listenership. Are the worldspace folks listening?

The SouthWest 45 degree recommended is to latch on to Afristar which still pumps out NPR, BBC WORLD, and a few other channels. May not be much just about 4 to 6 channels -but atleast some information flows by a sheer miracle! May be after reading this those would be locked down as well!

Dear Anonymous,
I used to listen to Farishta, Spandana and Shruti. Since 1st Jan, the spark in life is gone. Convey my thanks to the RJs for brightening our life. It is definitely one music product that if one listens once will get hooked for life. If I had the money, I would have saved Worldspace for the sake of fellow music lovers.
