Opera in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu; Handset tie-ups

Opera

Opera has just released the 9.6 version of it’s desktop/mobile browser and the newer version enables one to write e-mails in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu with Opera’s built-in e-mail client, Opera Mail.

Opera is strongly focusing in the Indian market (India is #3 as far as the usage of Opera Mini is concerned); and is looking at partnership with Tata, Spice Mobile and Meridian Mobile in order to achieve better penetration in the Indian market.

Opera Mini, the mobile browser is currently available in Hindi and one can download from here (select ‘Hindi’ from the language select box).

I use Opera on and off, and find it a lot faster than Firefox – the only missing piece being those awesome FF plugins.

What about you? Still on FF? Chrome?
