Well, I consider this article make sense. If some1 is going to copy your idea which is not patented then it is some way or the other must have thought by others. With my knowledge NDA is just a eye wash . We feel as if we are secure

Think about it, you have signed an NDA, some one changed your with bit of extra flavor to it. Do you think you can still secured?

NDA is just a document nothing really can be done out of it. Well its purely my personal opinion.

Talking about physicians and chartered acoountants…do not forget that those professional take the oath for the job; Investors don’t, as far as I could remember.

Hence one should do a thorough homework on the potential investors and access their level of integrity.

In those days and ages, I think the only thing that protects entrepreneurs ideas (being commodity-type or ground-breaking innovation) is his ability to say everything about his idea without saying a thing. Yeah you read it well.

Every single day, I strive to master that skill. A good start point for those who are interested about it, two books:

Talk to the panwala for 10 minutes and he will share all his details.
It’s not that the startup (or panwala) in this case is talking to any randon fellow – if he is talking to an investor (or ‘seth’ in your case), he will have to answer all the above questions.

Don’t you think it’s logical for an investor to ask these questions? Don’t you invest similarly?

@Kiran great pan-shop analogy . Even when a pan-shop guy feels threatened what is wrong if a private company feels the same.

That was a good one !

But still why the private companies whether it is an IT or non IT companies will not reveal how much it costs them it is like say if a guy started one pan shop he won’t share how he got the place,from where he is getting the raw material,how much it cost him to setup what is stopping him to tell those things ?
