BigAdda claims a user base of 3 million (85% of the registered users are between the age group of 18 to 30 years with almost 32% being between 21 to 24 years).
Barely 3 months back, they claimed 1.5 million users – so essentially, doubled up the numbers in just 3 months!
Within India while the metros like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai and others contribute 50% users, the rest 50% user base comes from tier-II & III towns like Pune, Nagpur, Chandigarh, Vishakapatnam, Allahabad etc – source

What’s your take on BigAdda’s numbers?

Interesting thing about these services is that despite having a pretty big circle I have never found anyone who actually uses one of these services. I would love to meet a few real users and know what they think about it
vaporware!
Bigadda is Bigkhadda
big adda means human moments.
From Arif Hussain
the 3 Million number in itself doesn’t mean anything . how many of these 3 million are return user ? how many navigate beyond first page . how many only hit the site when get a notification ( you’ve been tagged in a photo ) etc etc .
truth is they can cross 6 Million mark soon if they make it mandatory to register to read Big B’s blog . but that won’t mean its working well . Real acid test is engagement , session timing , How many conversation a user starts or contribute .
from what i know that sort of activity is very limited on Big Adda . But this is true that in Tier B towns Teenagers know only Orkut , BigAdda, IBIBO & desimartini . But this is only because of TV commercials I guess .
10 Users -> [Invite all friends - Unknowingly Most of times]
-> 10*50 = 500 users [Invite]
-> 500*50 …. cycle goes on..
BUT …
Expansion rate in this case will be hardly more than 2-3%.
Instead of stating that they have 3 million users they should tell their monthly page views. That would be a far greater insight.
Plus I am very sure, nobody is coming back to them..
