Skype Phone in India – Belkin Launches it’s Skype Phone

Belkin has launched Skype phone in India enabling users to make ISD calls for as low as Rs. 1.

Belkin has launched a desktop and a Wi-Fi phone pre-loaded with Skype – the wi-fi phone works at all hotspots and is available for a price range between Rs. 7,000 and Rs. 10,000. Belkin Skype phone will also allow 500 Skype and Skype Out contacts in the contact list along with call hold/release, call pickup/park, muting, redial and call-timer display (source).

Do you really need a phone?

Tringme, SIP based system already offers web-based telephony (works great for ISD calls) and in general, skype works perfectly with windows mobile (available for as low as Rs. 5K).belkin-skype

There are couple of other alternatives – Netgear launched a Wi-Fi phone earlier, but Belkin’s differentiator lies in the ISD pricing.

What’s your take?
