Another one bites the dust : Jhoom.in

Not too sure whether you guys even know about Jhoom.in, a social network site launched in 2006 and catered to Bollywood and Indian Music fans.

The site was launched by Saurav Chopra, passout of IIT D and LBS. Unfortunately, Jhoom.in never had any luck with Indian netizens and never received any traction (even though they had partnerships with musical bands and sponsored few rock music events).

Jhoom.in used to source some of the blog content from moviewalah.com, another site that I was/am involved with.

The very basic building block was missing and it finally showed up. The site is no longer available and Saurav has joined Amobee.

Interestingly, do you think single founder startup is a doom in waiting? Historically, startups need 2.09 founders to make it big!

R.I.P. Jhoom.in.

What a ShortCircuit day for Indian Startups!
