Aryty Lets you send prepaid recharge credits to India, Partnership with Indian Telcos
Aryty is a US based startup that allows people in the U.S. and Canada, to purchase pre-paid credits for friends and family abroad (supports India and Philippines only) who use prepaid mobile phone plans.
The service is free to use and charges only the amount of mobile phone credit you send (does not charge any transaction fees, but your standard text messaging rates still apply) (via).
In order to send mobile recharge credits, all you need to do is sign-up for the free account, enter the recipient’s name/mobile number, punch in your credit card number and the amount is transferred instantly.
Aryty has partnered with Indian Telcos (Tata Indicom, Vodafone, Idea, Airtel, BSNL) in India and allows sending smaller amount of credits ($2, $4, $8 and $12) as Indian operators do not allow roll-over credit.
Service like this does have huge demand and do expect a solid business coming to Aryty from operators – most importantly, there are specific circles where they should just aggressively tap the market (Punjab?).
What’s your opinion on Aryty?
