Wanna validate whether your site meets the web 2.0 standard? Well, you might want to check web2.0validator.

Though I don’t agree with all the criterias (rather most of it), its a good fun to notice that iDea Labs gets a rank of 16/50 while Flickr (probably one of the most successful web 2.0 site) just manages to grab 4/50, while gets a rank of 16!! :)

Few significant parameters are:

  • Is in public beta?
  • Uses inline AJAX ?
  • Uses python?
  • Is Shadows-aware ?
  • Uses the prefix “meta” or “micro”?
  • Uses tags ?
  • Uses Cascading Style Sheets?
  • Has favicon ?
  • Appears to be web 3.0 ?
  • Appears to use AJAX ?
  • Mentions an “architecture of participation”?
  • Mentions Nitro ?
  • Mentions Cool Words ?
  • Mentions Ruby?
  • Appears to use MonoRail ?
  • Has prototype.js ?
  • Actually mentions Web 2.0 ?
  • Mentions RDF and the Semantic Web?
  • Uses microformats ?
