iCognue – AI based Search Engine from Sobha Renaissance’s IT arm

Sobha Renaissance’s IT arm has launched iCognue, an AI based search engine that they claim transcends beyond keyword search, and results revolve around the larger icognuecontext of the typed  keyword and not only around the keyword.

Currently, the search is limited to Encyclopedia, Wikipedia and Healthcare and though SRIT calls it a "newly developed algorithm, Latent Metonymical Analysis and Indexing, it’s basically a take on semantic search.

I tested the product with few keywords and don’t have a positive feedback on the results. Maybe SRIT guys should look at Powerset which, even though has a small data set (i.e. only wikipedia) does an awesome job of unlocking the meaning of query keywords.

Do give iCognue a shot and share your feedback.

UI SUCKS, out of 10 search only 1 Satisfied. Powerset is far ahead of this.

    2. Vipsy says:

      Yeah, nothing s good.
UI sucks, algo is bad, there search doesnt even recongnise ‘?’ (question mark). see the error for search term “where is bangalore ?” wtf.
      Error:
Please refine your search query syntax: Lexical error at line 1, column 21. Encountered: after : “”.

They dont have any asthetic sense,

homepage says, “Welcome to the Alpha Release of LMai Algorithm ” doesnt look kewl.

    3. Don says:

I tried “heart surgery” it gave me better context than Google forget Powerset.

iCognue also gives out an AutoSummary of the results links, which is awesome.

Since, this is an Alpha….there seem to be testing it out still. They seem to definitely have a huge potential though and I believe they will improve.

      Cheers.

Hi this great search engine guys…I did some medical searches Like – insulin, aspirin, Myocardial Infarction etc…it gave great context about the search keyword.

I tried some searches on my favourite star Shahrukh Khan – my God, this search engine brings everything related to my star except my name ;o)

I did google on the same queries. Google’s results are good but lack the context of icognue.

I love this so called icognue…I don’t know why some guys crib on the shortcomings

      appreciate indian made things!

I liked this search engine. Powerset seem to be optimized only for Wikipedia…nothing great, one can write HTML/XML parser to extract the details as done in powerset as Wikipedia is more structured. True intelligence by a machine can be judged only by the context derived on various data sets.

I tried: hole in the head, a famous music album – icognue brings out better context, powerser does not.

I am a researcher in Natural Language Processing and I don’t think powerset can be compared with icognue. I see icognue’s intelligence more towards clustering context as supposed to powerset’s extracting concepts on structured data like wikipedia.

John, Don and Divya – Glad to see your passion towards your “own co.” product!
Maybe you guys should comment from different IPs.

    7. Shashi says:
