Pakistan to Ban Yahoo, Google, Bing (and 6 other site) for Publishing Blasphemous Material?

Pakistan is set to block Google, Yahoo, MSN, Hotmail, YouTube, Bing and Amazon, for publishing and promoting sacrilegious and blasphemous material.

Earlier, we reported Pakistan lawyers in a faceoff with Facebook and wanting death sentence for Mark Zuckerberg.

As per ToI, the Bahawalpur bench of the Lahore High Court yesterday directed the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority to immediately block nine websites, including Google, Yahoo, MSN, Hotmail, YouTube, Bing and Amazon, for publishing and promoting sacrilegious and blasphemous material.

Though Pakistan’s Internet service providers haven’t confirmed the news, the report is being circulated across all media channels as well.

Is Pakistan becoming another China, without the Chinese leverage?

Pakistan has Internet? Ha! Why should we care about what Pakistanis block! Any way what else they would be searching on Google, Bing other than “hows tos” on making bombs! Good. World will have a few less terrorists!

      • Nilesh says:

I see that your maturity has reached astoundingly epic levels.

        • Yash says:

That’s right. My maturity for all things Pakistan reached an all time high/low after 26/11.

But on a more sensible note, why is Pluggd.in bothering about state of Internet affairs in Pakistan? Be it Paki clone of Facebook (whose creators are abusing comments section of that post to spread their lunatic agenda) or this post. I don’t think net biggies even give a s*** about Pakistan or Pakistani users.

        • Gagan says:

          @Nilesh,
Are you a so called “intellectual”, like those Times of India “Aman Ki Asha” guys? Pakistan WAS and IS a real enemy. There is no peace, no asha and no samjotha between India and Pakistan, till Pakistan is eliminated from World map. Learn to hate Pakistan. Stop being pseudo intellectual.

    2. Reema Siddiqui says:

I am Pakistani and well, Im not even going to bother replying to Yash’s comment. Pakistan is a nation that has been formed for Islam, its constitution and government and all socio-economic sectors strive to maintain a perfect Islamic society. The government has all rights to ban anything that eventually hurts the sentiments of the 96.4% Muslim population that lives there. We are economically weak at the moment, also plagued with terrorism due to a strong US presence in the north, but does that mean we’ll sit and watch our religion insulted? Nah-uh! I really don’t think so!

Sometimes it makes me feel happy that we partitioned and ^^ these guys went on the other side.

Read those –> “Religion insulted” ha ha ha. Dude lameness pervades the Muslim community like for no one else. What is there in the religion if the belief system is distorted. Not that other religions are great, but just look at yourself man.

Muslim guys fight with everyone. Be it Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Hindus or even themselves. And all of them fight for the religion. Why is it so?

        • Mama Pendse says:

You are absolutely right. Partition was/is a good thing for India. All the sh!t is kicked out of India. Thank God for that. Otherwise, India would also have been plagued with these kind of lameness.

    3. This is ridiculous, and crippling the progress which they badly need now. The same mediums have equal access and probably have instances that can be found offensive to the other religions as well. Why are they getting into a salvage mode ?

    4. Mex says:

All that these guys are concerned is their religion….
And every pakistani can do anything they want in the name of religion.

Pakistanis never are practical. You guys aren’t even honest to yourselves.

    5. Mama Pendse says:

PluGGd.in should not care about such silly things happening in Pakistan. Pakistan is a failed country. It’s greatest export is terrorism.

    6. 009 says:

pakistan is trying to be a different planet, nothing else.
