Yes, there a few players in this space. Two days ago, a company was featured on TV - they are into printing a design (chosen by a user or uploaded by a user) on a t-shirt (various designs are provided on the UI), mugs, key chains and so on. They showed the Impress technology used and their lab as well.

But still, I cannot forget the spider-man I printed on a white t-shirt and wearing it before seeing the Spiderman movie, first day first show :-). That too "few years ago"!

@arpit I am one of the founders of SheepStop, glad that you liked the first looks. As you rightly pointed out the idea for crowd-sourcing has been around here for a while, so the question comes down to execution. Also the market potential is enormous, and the marketplace can accommodate several players. We at SheepStop have focused on the minutest of details and will continue to sure that there is enough to keep both the designer as well as the customer engaged. And even tough we have substantial perceptible differences as compared to the other players, the main differentiation we feel would be in the level of service and the great shopping experience people would have at SheepStop!

@apu no denying threadless has been an inspiration to us, but the logo similarity is completely coincidental

The logo looks so similar to threadless.com - is that a coincidence or what? (and taglines too - 'nude no more' vs. 'stop covering up').

The website looks pretty professional. Wonder how large their team is. One question to the founders would be how do they plan to differentiate and make a name for themselves in this (somewhat) crowded marketplace?
