Good utility for all ye music buffs.

Songreference is a newly launched music utility that helps you automatically find the video of the music playing in your playlist.

Launched by Toufee founder Sanchit (3-day weekend project), songreference is integrated with iTunes, winamp and KMPlayer.

Termed Minitube, the plugin will stream videos (from Google video/YouTube) of the song you are listening to as well as get the wikipedia page of the song.

One more good addition would be to show lyrics/ links to lyrics
      and album website

    2. Kapil says:

This is a nice utility. I’ll wait for a version in which videos can be cached for offline viewing.

Good Idea, Liked It. Can we Save the Video [during streaming] in our PC from SongReference util ?.

I would go with Prashanth, one of the usual things we tend to search for are lyrics, so that would be an interesting addition to music buffs.

    5. Hi Ashish,
Thanks for the review and kinds comments on the plugin! Very happy to read about it on your website!

Also thanks to all the readers and the suggestions. Many people want a video download option, so would definitely try to add that when i create the next version.

@prashanth: for lyrics there are already a lot of good plugins on winamp.com which work alongside minitube. That should do the trick for now. But I think adding a link to a lyrics site under wikipedia link shouldn’t be very hard either, so it’s a good idea.

anyway, great to read about it here again! many thanks!

      Kind Regards,
      San.
