We all love freebies – so here is one fortnight dedicated to..what else, but free softwares.
Free, as in free, and the topic will range from free desktop softwares to free softwares on the web (collaboration/enterprise/crm/etc).
Having said that, we would also like to bring in certain insights on when free software do not work (and paid-ones are better), as well as legal definition of ‘free’.
At the same time, if you are a startup/geek and wish to share your list of free softwares that you use, please do so (get in touch: ashish at pluggd.in)
Enjoy the ‘free ride’!

We use BizSpark, and all the goodness that comes with it. So far, it has worked well – saved us costs to use some well-established software both for development and production.
However, when we needed a customer service app (routing emails, tracking tickets etc), we tried MSFT’s Dynamics CRM and found it too complex for our purposes. We are still in a quest for a good customer service app that is, well, free and useful. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reco, Balu…looks very interesting. Will check it out!
I am looking at free email management system, to be used for our mailing campaigns. Must have features to take care of “unsubscribe” requests, bouncing email addresses etc.
Also looking at free contact management system, should have features to help us with timely followup our prospects.
Also looking at any free expense management system.
Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Chirag,
Not sure if you would be able to find a free email mgmt system; we are using MailChimp which we found gave us the best bang for the buck…so far great experience.

Almost everyone that makesan income on the internet (even the millionaires) do so through affiliate marketing. Being successful in affiliate marketing involves applying the formula that makes other affiliate marketers successful. For example, autoblogging. Autoblogging has been one of the least well-known forms of making money online for quite some time… primarily because it’s quite difficult to make a good auto-blog. Yet, when done right, it can provide you with a perpetual passive income with the only real work required being the setting up process. Video Marketing, and several other marketing strategies are all designed to drive traffic to your site, can be incorporated organicly in order to raise the position your site appears in the search engine results page when someone searches for a term related to your site. And yet, even this can be totally automated.
