Permission Marketeer MyScreen Files Patent for Mobile Advertising in India
US based MyScreen has filed a patent in Indian patent office to protect it’s IPR on permission and incentive based permission marketing on mobile.
The filing of patents in specific countries, such as India, is just the start to protect its technology globally. Myscreen’s technology is patent pending in the USA, Canada and the World. By applying specifically to the Intellectual Property office for India, it ensures a solid foundation to build a successful market.[source]
MyScreen has recently started it’s India operations as well.
Permission marketing is a big opportunity in India (read our detailed coverage of permission marketeers in India), and if MyScreen’s patent is approved, it might potentially affect Indian mobile advertising companies as well.

Isn’t there enough “prior art” for this to never pass by the patent office ? Of course I do not have the exact details of the patent, but if, as the article suggests, its broad enough to be a threat to all mobile advertising, its likely to have been done in some form of the other.
Even am wondering whether this is a process patent or a tech patent?
If its both – its a threat to other players.
Well, its tough to comment unless the application gets published. Its clearly evident that they might have got a early priority date by filling in some other country (may be US,Canada)n now trying to enter India to cover the market potential.
what surprises me is, how could they file in India. neither business method nor software patents are allowed here. I doubt if there is any hardware element involved.
