Undoubtedly a useful report. Section 2, does give some interesting insights. Thanks to Mobisy for publishing their findings.

On particular aspect, I'd have liked better, would be more detailed "Demographics" section. Gender as the only parameter there, doesn't tell much.

For one, my guess is this is largely a nerdy, technophilic, mostly young, urban base of respondents, as an overall "full GPRS" subscription of 39%, is just not the correct trend outside of that segment. Also, 'threaded-SMS'. While the concept of 'threaded-SMS' is intuitive, usability isn't that great on most phones. On my S60-3.2 device, "conversation" messaging requires installing an app from Nokia Beta Labs.

A key factor behind any good research report is good sampling. This doesn't mean extensive sampling (i.e. large samples). For as long as we clearly identify the nature of sample, type of respondents who took the survey, it helps paint a clearer picture, of whom (which segment) the current focussed report is applicable to.

[...] I guess that result of this survey shows a subtle and Bigger problem at hand . Media Sharing is biggest “demand” or “desired” feature for mobile but we know that there are more than one application to accomplish that objective . a Bigger problem for mobile is to ensure Application discovery and usage[ usability ] . how do user discover and install app without worrying too much about Compatibility with device ,Nw Dependency etc . - @Prashant on mobile usage survey [...]

Terrific report Mobisy - it does bring out several insights.
innovations are waiting to happen in this space with whatever low bandwidth has been provided by the operators.

LBS and file-sharing features are the next 'hot' apps then?
I couldn't have agreed more...
