Microsoft Office 2010 is the latest version of Microsoft Office, scheduled for retail release in the month of June, 2010.
Office 2010 marks the debut of free online versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote, which will work in popular web browsers. A new edition of Office, Office Starter 2010, will replace the current low-end home productivity software, Microsoft Works.
A new feature in Microsoft Office 2010 is the Social Connector. This allows users to write emails while keeping track of their family, friends, and colleagues by viewing status updates and past communication history with the individual. When users view their emails a name, picture, and title will be available for the person they are contacting. Upcoming appointments can also be viewed with this new feature and users can request friends.[via]

We are bizpark members and I have been using the beta for quite sometime now…its good..
A new use case for me of powerpoint is to create diagrams and save them as images especially block/concept diagrams…no need to learn graphic tools!
Much better and professional collaterals can be created using word templates now.
All alternatives may technically provide all features but what makes MS Office the best is not just features but the usability and UX.
+1 Sumeet, seriously to make simple diagrams I find PP more suitable than photoshop
