NCRHunt – Local search player for NCR Region

NCRHunt is a NCR based local search player and provides listings from various categories including hotels, pubs, restaurants, travel agents, retail shops, sports, doctors, automobiles etc.

NCRhunt caters to lifestyle segment in general, and has some amount of editorial content (blog) – nothing much to talk about on that front.

If you are from NCR region, share your feedback on NCRHunt. Is their data useful?

Local search is data + distribution game and am not sure how many players will survive the game.

NCRHunt is very much in its infancy as of now. It’s not even a beta product, event the footer links don’t work.
The home page is not properly aligned for all browsers. (I don’t know about others, but not at least for Safari and firefox for mac)
      URLs are not SEO friendly,
e.g. for a pizza query, URL is http://ncrhunt.com/result.html?what=piza&location=
If you click on next button, the URL stays. I guess a lot of AJAX is used, (or at least DHTML). But serving google with two copies of the same page with the same URL is not a good idea.

Search engine fails for a simple spelling mistake of pizza, i.e. if you search for piza, you won’t get any result.

Will be back with more :)

      Oh , puhleeze !

None of the links work except Delhi Metro. Even the Delhi Metro is a simple cut and paste from another site. The events tab shows events that have long completed.

Yeah, we know with Web 2.0, the bar has come down for anyone to claim they have a business. Nothing wrong with that, except if you have zilch and publicize early, you leave a very bad impression.

Better get the product ready (at least relative to the low desi Web 2.0 standards) and then make it public.

Quite a useless product…more like a college project..

Oh wow, I just noticed that their footer links have started working now :) And why I have a feeling that they’re heavily inspired(?) from asklaila with all the ‘food’, ‘entertainment’, ‘events’ , ‘shopping’ tabs.
(Asklaila tabs read: ‘Events’, ‘Movies’, ‘Wine and dine’, ‘Lifestyle’, ‘Local services’ and ‘shopping’)

Ya..sum of the links are not working..but still i like integration of data with maps..guess these guys need to put more work to give it a professional look.
