Rediff goes live with open platform (iShare being the first)

Rediff opened it’s developer platform few months back and today went live with third party applications on its video and music platform, Rediff iShare.

iShare APIs supports any app that is compatible with FBML (Facebook Markup Language) and has been launched with 3 apps:

  • Dedicate a Song - an app that lets users to share the a song in audio or video format  that they find on Rediff iShare platform.
  • Quiz app based on  popular Indian movies and a  popular fan club app,
  • OMG! Its SRK – that lets users answer questions, watch videos, listen to music, view photos of the Bollywood superstar, Shahrukh Khan- oOne can add these apps to their rediff social profile.

Does Rediff has the ‘network effect’ strong enough for development community to build apps?

What’s your opinion?
