Google Launches InQuotes : No ‘development’ quote from Lalu Yadav

Google Labs has launched InQuotes that allows you to find quotes from stories linked to from Google News.

Think of it as a comparison engine with focus on what politicians/celebrities are saying with regards to a context:

These quotations are a valuable resource for understanding where people in the news stand on various issues. Much of the published reporting about people is based on the interpretation of a journalist. Direct quotes, on the other hand, are concrete units of information that describe how newsmakers represent themselves. Google News compiles these quotations from online news stories and sorts them into browsable groups based on who is being quoted.

Interesting concept – if they expose the APIs, it can turn into a discussion forum. What’s your opinion?

Interestingly, no development quotes (as of now) found from Lalu Yadav, and no congress related quote from sonia gandhi!
