Moster has partnered with DishTV to offer job searches on DishTV. The service, available for free to all Dishtv subscribers, will enable job searches on parameters such as location, industry and experience. Subscribers can also get information about Monster’s career services, such asRésumé Writing and Résumé Blaster (via).
The service is primarily search driven, and doesn’t completes the loop – i.e. you cannot apply for a job using the service (since DTH set top boxes cannot offer return path (though Airtel is working on this technical challenge).
This is quite a logical route for classified businesses to reach out to a wider audience (earlier shaadi partnered with Zee DTH) and we did suggest job portals to go DTH way.
Having said that, most of classified services on DTH fail to provide a ‘wow’ experience, because of technical challenges posed by DTH STBs, i.e.
- Limited storage
- No return path, i.e. 1-way communication. One cannot send back data to the server.
Most of DTH apps are banking on the future innovations – especially on the 2-way communication and these apps are more of an exploratory implementation by the companies.
