Vodafone has announced that the company will launch iPhone 4 in India – as early as next month.
While the iPhone 4 price in India is not yet announced, expect this to be sky rocketing.

Now that 3G auction is done and operators are gearing up for the 3G service launch, I am not sure whether bringing iPhone 4 to India is the right strategy or instead selling more of 3GS is the way to go.
How much will be the iPhone 4 price in India? 35K/40K or 50K?

When I can get a comparable HTC Desire for 26K, why would I spend double that money for an iphone 4?
IMO, the iphone 4 isn’t lightyears ahead of HTC’s current crop of smartphones like the Desire/Incredible/Legend to justify the huge huge premium for merely the brand.
I would prefer the Desire, EVo, Nexus or Moto Shadow anyday as compared to Iphone. The phone is still too restricted and too controlled. Others are providing the same (and better functionality) for normal rates

i think the price will be the same as the 3gs – or maybe with a small premium. whille the price of the 3gs will drop to the price of the outgoing 3g model. and re the authors comment about 3g spectrum and sticking to 3gs – its a silly point – as both the 3g and gs are for 3g networks…the 4g is exactly the same..

The duty part is the worst thing that can happen to anyone , ur phone might clear out by customs fre of cost if they dont’ catch n if dey catch it dey will hold the phone for atleast a month n charge u with some duty ( Dont knw how much it is , i think its 20% , not sure though depends on the cost ) , its pure luck

I think in US it is cheapest. Even though I am using AT and T contract for 2 years paying arpund 70$ per month but I saw unlocked mobile in black market here for 600$ which would be less than 30,000. But if you use unlock mobile then it is just like other simple mobile cause you wont be able to us 3G serivce which is the main feature of I phone 4. It is damn amzing mobile. You can do video calling all over us for free and video calling all over world in yahoo, or skypee or lot of other free voip services if you have unlmited data plan or in Wifi. I talk to all my friend in India on video whereever I am , on road, in train , in car,,so that is amzing features. Beside that you can watch TV shows, online movies, learn music, gitar, piano etc, USE GPS on road if you are lost, If you see something in showroom and your doubt price just take picture of barcode and submit it, iphone would give you real price on company rahter then what any showroom is selling you. Then if you in city you can search nearby hotels, bars, petrol pump,,any thing with comparable price between all, use banking, sharemarketing, gambling, anf unlimited other uses which I still dont know. Same time you can listen to any country music,FM 24 hours..So I would recomd not to take unlocked mobile that would waste of money. Once you use iphone 3 G services youw ould feel like life is so easy with iphone..trust me you are gonna foget black berry services aftering using it.

One more thing , if your buying an Iphone from above mentioned countries remember this , the price written is without tax. Tax charge would be diffrent for diffrent countries. I got my Iphone 4 32gb from canada. Price CAD$779 without tax , with tax it was ~ CAD$ 890 or so.

According to the tear-down the most expensive part of the Iphone 4 is the 3.5-inch LCD screen which costs $28.50. Isuppli thinks that the Iphone 4 screen must be identical to one made by LG.
It seems that Apple has managed to keep its parts cost at about $170 to $180 per unit. Isuppli’s cost estimate doesn’t include labour, shipping, advertising, software development or patent licensing.
The cost is based on a 16GB version of the Iphone 4 but the low costs of each componant are fairly staggering.
The Apple A4 processor reportedly is made by Samsung Electronics for $10.75 per chip.
Isuppli thinks that Geneva-based STMicroelectronics supplied the gyroscope chip at an estimated cost of $2.60, as well as an accelerometer chip used in previous Iphone versions, which has an estimated cost of 65 cents.
Other component suppliers named by Isuppli include Skyworks, a wireless chipmaker and TriQuint Semiconductor.
In 2009, Isuppli estimated that the components and materials used in the iPhone 3GS cost about $179. Since then Isuppli thinks that the materials costs for that model have fallen to $134. Thus the Iphone 4 costs a bit more to make than the earlier model.
Of course this means that Apple’s gross margin on the hardware in Iphones is extremely high.
The actual price margin gets obscured by the fact that AT&T heavily subsidises the phone in the US for about what it costs to manufacture. AT&T makes its money back with lucrative data contracts, so it is happy.
However the real winner is Apple, which does not have to pay for the cost of manufacture and still takes home about three times Iphone 4 production costs, on average. Then Apple makes other profits from users living in Steve Jobs’ walled garden of delights. µ

that is right. YOu cant get I phone in US without paying 2 year contract. you need to sign contract with your social security number. Once it is gone into yur social security number you cant hide anywhere. This is not india bro..US people are smart. HTC pure is a nice smart phone from HTC. I like up this phone as the look of the handset is very impressive and one could easily get attracted towards it. The handset is not enabled with the headset but inspite of this the set is featured with other latest technologies which enhance the feature of this set.

Hey, i got my iphone from Dubai, i am working in Dubai..
iPhone 4 – 16GB – 2800AED = 33,600 INR
iphone 4 – 32GB – 3000AED = 36,000 INR
iphone4 is amazing theres no doubt about it im in delhi and i can get it from gurgaon at 43k 1 gb and i have an uncle livin in singapore what should i do any suggestions???????

Guys – I have a 32GB IPhone 3GS and unlocked and will be happy to sell it for 25,000 rupees, anyone interested, write to me. It is in perfect condition not even a single scratch. I am also going to travel to India (I am a Canadian PR) around mid Jan, so if anyone wants new iPhone 4, let me know, I can get it to India for a small margin for me

hey i think the iphone4 32 gb is a great phone !! i have tried nokia n8 but beleive me the n8 touchscreen is really a shit …iphone4 touch screen is awesome i mean terribly good !! cool resolution the highest coz of retina display . its made of glass so b carefull . i wl surely buy it in september 2011 from bangalore , india . its price for 32 gb is around 38 thousand but the retailer told me to pay 2000 less and 16gb cost 36000 but he told me to pay 34000 as i do recharge daily frm his shop . so email me to get the iphone for atleast some less price . but in shopping mall in bangalore calld the eva mall/croma electronics they r wanting 41k for 3gs !! hah..how much they wl charge for a iphone4 32 gb !!just think !! so better communicate with the mobile shops other than to buy it frm a big mall…they wl just give a receipt and 1 year domestic warranty but charge you more . so whats d use ? buy it frm a retailer . they wont give warranty i think but product is genuine and at lesser price too . dont think in us it cost less ….u hav to pay for at&t and other messaging , internet and etc data plans !! it would cost much !! in bangalore it wl b unlockd if u want

Other than the fact that this is an Apple product, the biggest draw for me to buy this phone was the touch-sensitive display and the 3 MP camera with video recording, which is awesome.
I bought this phone from mnvcollections.com the one site which I found better to purchase from as compared to other online ecommerce sites. And it is totally worth the money. Coming to iPhone, the tap and touch use is the best I have ever used in any phone and is a total breeze to use.
All you guys iphone4 is great im using it from 1 month its the most loving & easy going phone i have ever seen i brought it from dubai totally unlocked all u sitting in India i think till next 2 years you wont be able to see in India at all.

just went to etisalat & get it very easy.
wowowowo guys hold on dont go so much crazy for iphone for its actually great but still 3gs rocks iphone4 is having same processor just the difference is of camera & Its just H.d ya spet is just little better than 3gs other than that nothing so think before you buy it…
I am using iPhone 4 on Vodafone since last winter. I purchased it from Singapore (unlocked by Apple), at INR 36k (32GB version).
No issue of jailbreaking, its working well on Vodafone.
