iPhone 3GS was supposed to be launched in India by August of 2009 and as expected, Airtel has confirmed that it will sell iPhone 3GS in India.
The launch date (and price) is not yet announced, though Airtel has setup a dedicated site @ www.airtel.in/iphone3gs

Please note that iPhone3G on Airtel will be locked to Airtel and will work only with airtel sim card.

Pricing of around 25K for the 16gb version and 30K for the 32gb version would be great. Add in free gprs for 1 year and I think airtel will have a winner on its hands
Well this great news for all 3g fans. The best part is that we all can use the 3g spectrum which is awaited. 3g is available in all most all the countries and is in great demand. The speed you get in 3g is awesome. Hopefully 3g facility should not be that costly.
Pricing should be lower. These technologies are not as expensive as Airtel and all project it.
If 3GS is going to be priced like iPhone3G, and if 3G’s price is going to drop by 10k, then it will finally make sense to buy an iPhone 3G.

So sad. I have decided to buy iphone 3G. But NEVER EVER FROM AIRTEL. AIRTEL IS “CHOR” COMPANY WITH THUGS & IDIOTS WORKIN. I WOULD DIE WITHOUT A MOBILE THAN TO USE AIRTEL OR ANYTHING THAT IS REMOTELY CONNECTED TO AIRTEL.
Great write up. The iPhone is truly amazing and I don’t like being without it. This time last year I had jumped in a pool with my iPhone and it was dead. I had to wait 10 days before I was able to get a new one. The phone I had was a cheap go phone. I really love all the apps that can be downloaded to the iPhone. The best part about the iPhone to me is the ability to check emails on the go. Thanks for the information.
