Opera launches Mini 4.1 – sleek and sexy

Opera rules the mobile browser market and has announced the launch of it’s latest version – 4.1. The new version delivers couple of damn neat features:opera mini

  • Auto-fill: when typing Web addresses, Opera Mini 4.1 will recognize and suggest completions for you based on your Bookmarks and browsing history, making address input faster, easier and much more intuitive.
  • Download and upload files- On phones with JSR-75, you can now upload and download files using Opera Mini 4.1, without being re-routed to your phone’s native browser. Update your blog while on the go. Upload photos to your Web site or social network. Add attachments easily to Web-based email, and download other non media-rich content to your phone using Opera Mini 4.1.
  • Save it for later- On phones with JSR-75, Opera Mini 4.1 lets you save pages for offline viewing so you can quickly access and read your desired Web content, even when you’re on a plane, in the subway, or in other places where you can’t get network reception.

Quite lately, I have been using Opera instead of FF and am just waiting for Opera to launch DragonFly, the FireBug alternative.

What has been your experience with Opera Mini, and the desktop browser in general?

As far as my experience, Opera is first TABBED browser innovator, and its a COMPLETE product: Once you download the browser it comes with many features including: email eclient, widgets, rss reader, text to speech and lots of lots of features. And its also consumes less memory than FF [overnight usage].

One major feature of Opera is that you can RESUME download when there is net DC or m/c restart but the same is not available in FF and IE [here u need to use DAP to resume the download].

      Overall Opera is 10/10.

Looking some other comments from Opera users :)

One more feature is that it also has Torrent Client.

    3. Opera cannot support downloads once it is closed. Firefox 3 can do that. And firefox 2 can support resumed downloads, Mahesh is an idiot. Opera is good, my 2nd choice, but firefox rules!!!

Opera is my primary browser from past 1 year or so. Very very happy with it especially with inbuilt email client and sleek RSS reader. I used to miss my Yahoo! toolbar in the begining but found some workaround (and they were easy!)

The only problem is from the sites who are not standard compliant or are designed with only 1-2 browsers in mind. But not worth leaving Opera.
