Thanks @Kasi. You have indeed brought to light different aspects and dimensions of Innovation. There is no framework, or a path that can be taken to innovate.

Infact, innovation does not happen only on the internet or the numbered lists you have mentioned. It's well beyond that. In fact, injecting radioactive isotopes in cancerous cells to determine the extent of cancer is also an innovative approach.

We want readers to come and share their views, anecdotes, 2 cents on the subject.

Thanks again,
Vidhu

Innovation is not like pub or disco which go bust or boom in weeks.

Google never knew how to make money until they were 2-years old and twitter still donno how to make money. Of course they will make it.

These are companies which live on 70-years of innovation on computers
operating systems and internet. Good and fabulous companies... no denying. But i won't
put them on top of innovation.

BTW, why only google and twitter....everywhere i go people talk about this
as innovation. Are we starved of innovation? OR Are we starved of people
who know something beyond internet?

Why not
i) micro-financing in bangladesh
ii) tata-nano
iii) i-phone
iv) 256-slice CT
v) Room-temperature super conducting coils
vi) simple energy saver for telecom towers (ACME)
vii) SlingBox-Boxee
viii) Mytoday
ix) sms payment in africa
x) Ipods

etc.,etc.,
