Arindam while it is a great case of Religare to create a company out stock selling but this business case does not prove our worth nor confidence in enterprenuership.

Socially, it’s much harder for an imaginative individual to create a product & fail, coz in India fear of failing is deep rooted through parentage.

It is much easier to create a services business like Infosys, Religare etc. as compared to Reliance Oil Refinery. Where level of risk is much higher.

In online web tech business, even the companies from entire Asia fail to leave a mark. Let alone Indian acumen.

I believe Indians are intrinsically better entrepreneurs because we thrive in an enviornment of challenges and chaos. I read an interesting story recently in The Business Standard about Religare- while a financial giant now, 8 years ago they were a staff of 19 people in a small office in Delhi!!!

Great story, as an enterprenuer in the new media business, it was definately worth a read
