News Roundup: Sun Launches DTH in Mumbai, MTNL’s 3G Service

Sun Direct, which already has 65% market share in south is now launching it’s DTH service in Mumbai.

Sun Direct has already invested Rs 150 crore for this fiscal year, of which Rs 50 crore has been earmarked for the Northern market. The total investment made for the whole campaign is Rs 2,000 crore, which includes the set-top boxes, manpower infrastructure and so on. – source

MTNL’s 3G Service

MTNL is slated to launch 3G service in Delhi on Dec 11th -

“The PSU is set to launch mobile video surveillance by marrying its much-awaited third-generation (3G) services with conventional closed-circuit TV. This will help security personnel monitor movements while being on the go themselves. The video surveillance service will use cameras linked by WiFi or landlines, which can be linked to a 3G handset wirelessly” – ET

    Positive side of Sun is that they allow third party STB work with their card, u arrange any Irdeto stb with dish and buy sun card.
