What would be the GPRS penetration including the wap versions like Airtel-LIve? Even with optimistic numbers, my feeling is it would be at 25%. That makes 750 million users. If we take 10% of that as ‘active’ users, it comes to 75 Million users.
Admob’s numbers of about 400 million page hits sounds rather too high. Most of the GPRS usage is happening by visiting the operator’s home pages. I know the largest operator is with Admob. Still the numbers don’t seem to add up. Or it would mean admob is reaching almost every GPRS/WAP user in this country.
My feeling is the numbers are simply bloated…though the % of phones seems right….has anyone noticed that there are no CDMA devices in that…given that most of them are data enabled it sounds rather one sided view only based on admob’s hits…
