Mobile VAS Conference: IRCTC sold only 921 tickets over mobile

Quick bits from mobile vas conference that was help on March 4th@ Mumbai (inputs from Akshat, CEO of Alabot)

  • IRCTC sold only 921 tickets over mobile in the month of feb (out of 60K tickets sold via the web)
  • Credit cards do not work, Cash cards and Debit cards are doing well for irctc

Mobile VAS:

  • 60-70% of the revenue goes to the operator – this needs to be addressed
  •  Only 11% of mobiles have a gps chipset in them
