Airtel has launched iBox, a coin box PCO that is bundled with a coin box instrument and fixed wireless terminal.

Reliance’s JumpGames to create mobile games for Manchester United
Jump Games, a Reliance ADAG company, has entered into an exclusive three-year alliance to create mobile gaming and trivia content as the official mobile games partner for Manchester United Football Club.
As part of the deal, Jump Games will design, develop and distribute six exclusive games centered around the football club every year. Manchester United has about 30 million registered fans in India, making India the third largest fan base for the English soccer club.Jump plans to tie up with mobile vendors, handset manufacturers and Web portals across the globe in order to popularise its gaming content. New technology may cut wireless network equipment cost by half
Surely a good news for Indian telcos (esp. BSNL, Reliance and Tata Teleservices who have/or planning to offer both cdma and gsm service) as the new technology can reduce spending on wireless network equipment by half by using a software-driven radio solution.
A software-based radio can tune automatically to any frequency, without having to put different radio transmitters for different technologies, very similar to an operating system of a computer that can run different applications such as word processing or an excel worksheet.

BSNL is already testing out the technology and interestingly, the technology is developed by Vanu Bose, son of Amar Bose the man behind Bose corp.
BPL Mobile to enter 22 circles – readies $2.5bn war chest
The company is exploring fund raising options to start services in 22 circles in the next two years.
The spectrum deadlock not withstanding, BPL Mobile – one of India’s first mobile-phone service providers – is readying a $2.5 billion war chest for starting services in the remaining 22 circles in the next two years.
The company, which is exploring various options of raising funds (equity as well as debt), is mulling the option of a public float. [source]
