Wolf Frameworks’s Platform-as-a-Service Model Helps Create Custom Business Apps
Wolf Frameworks is a Bangalore based startup that boasts of a 100% XML based Business Definition & Designing Platform-as-
a-Service (PaaS) for business users & companies to create their own custom Business Applications and Systems without worrying about software or technical development skills.
Essentially, customers can create a business application like CRM/Data mining/Billing/Project management/SCM by using Wolf’s SaaS platform without any upfront hardware/software investment.

The platform separates software code from business design for each business application and keeps its state, entities and other details such as business rules, relationships in XML format, creating zero dependency on technical code when Wolf users want to upgrade or add functionality to their applications.
Wolf Frameworks currently has launched bugtracker and CRM solution apps, and is very soon launching Project Management and Billing solutions.
The product is available for public beta and is supported only on IE.
Overall, Wolf looks very promising – SaaS is going big in India (e.g. airtel getting into saas business) and biggies like Salesforce are conducting roadshows to increase the awareness.

Platform as a service BUT works only in IE! are you kidding me ?
Isnt it true that most of the enterprises still run on IE?
I hope they will fix their app [website] on fire fox first:)
I have worked in this industry and Let me tell you I don’t think support for Browser is a BIG deal and srusly it won’t play an pivotal role in deciding the future of such initiative .
I haven’t looked at their pffering in great detail but i understand its basically a generic Workflow engine. They might have some Funcitonal module like Fin,HR,Production , Payroll etc but thats at a very high level like SAP has PP,FICO,ABAP,MM etc . a lot of work needs to be done to implement your workflow ,and make it work inside your SME .
Biggest challenge /Opportunity for such startup is to have people who can take time to understand the functionality and than customize it for work flow of every implementation . like What SAP consultant do for SAP implementations .
Most of the time such ventures struggle to scale beyond a certain size because they tend to handle every implementation on their own ( Mostly because of one time consulting / implmentation revenue ) look at RAMCO systems . Profitable ? Yes HUGE Install Base? No .
upcoming slowdown can be a boon for them .it will be interesting to see how they play their cards .
Good first impression… works perfectly in IE.
checked out their Solution gallery too..

Support for multiple browsers in the SaaS world is a BIG deal! I wonder how friendly the app will be once its designed on this system! Functionality is one part of the puzzle, but if the app does not provide a positive user experience (largely through a good UI) the adoption might be really slow.
Keep it up!

WOLF PaaS based applications work over IE 6, 7 & 8 and FireFox 3.0 onwards. Infact they just released their iPhone integration for realtime SaaS dashboards too
I believe Safari release is next ..
Is it not like any other workflow framework but web-based where you need to put lots of effort to come up with a solution? How would it differ from SAP in terms of customization and time required to do so? Anything on web doesn’t certify the qualification of the definition of enterprise SaaS. I see people/companies use SaaS or PaaS (SaaS Platform) for anything that is web-based. But it is NOT TRUE.
