storrz: Bangalore’s online grocery shopping store
The online retailing is finally happening in India. We have covered few interesting products like InfiBeam and Autsun, and here is introducing a newly launched product : Storrz.
What’s storrz?
storrz is an online retail shop that is using interesting ways to break the online shopping barrier.
It’s probably the first Online shopping mall in the country to accept payment at home by any Visa or Master, Credit or Debit card.
Storrz representatives carry a Mobile enabled point of sale device to the customers door step to make this happen. Storrz accepts Sodexho passes from the customer allowing a large number of coupon holders to now use their coupons Online.
Given the fact that families do look at grocery shopping as a chore activity and vehicle parking etc is a big decision criteria (esp. in Bangalore) regarding shopping timings, I see a strong adoption for online grocery market.
storrz is currently available only in Bangalore and they have set the minimum order amount to Rs. 250/ which I believe is quite valid, given the operational aspect of such business. storrz offers same day delivery for all products in Bangalore.
Based out of Bangalore Storrz.Com has tied up with Major Retailers and OEM Brands like Namdharis Fresh, MTR, Dr Morepen,Jus Trufs, Mars, Pedigree, Telia, The Art Of Living, Indus Tree Crafts etc. Each brand has its own Brand store at the Storrz.Com Shopping Mall. Customers visit the Storrz Mall and purchase from the many brands that are selling Online. While being promised the same quality of service from Storrz.Com (source)
As far as the site is concerned, storrz has made good use of AJAX and one can drag/drop the items from online catalog very easily. What’s really missing is the effort in the landing page: They need to really work on improving their landing page and showcase discounted products/daily use products in a far better way.
If you are a Bangalorean, give storrz a try and share your feedback.

Interestingly, subiksha has delayed its online store launch

site is nicely done ,work flow is very intuitive and easy .
seems like an promising startup . they are intelligent as they are not getting in to inventory stocking game like webvan or bababazzar.com
who are the guys behind this ?
Hello Ashish!
Even i have tried shopping at http://www.storrz.com! What I like about them is their on delivery payment option! I recently shopped for chocolates and i received it the same night! I hope they can maintain their service even when the customer count increases!
@Ravi: Thanls for sharing that info. Yes, there hasn’t been any major success in Indian online retailing industry…atleast in the web1.0 era..hopefully we will see some interesting stuff in the next few days.
@Prashant” I agree with you on the less noise @ storrz. Site is pretty neatly done. But at the same time, I believe they need to spruce up their home page, which literally has no display of product inventories
@Joshan: Thanks for sharing your feedback..! Infact, even am gonna use storrz service..THe best part is they accept credit card payment @ home..! Intelligent thing to do in cashless-and-plastic-money-rich Bangalore city!
Please check http://www.greenytails.com (formerly egrocerymart), the first online grocerry mart out of bangalore. Let us know your feedback.
Nice idea..maybe they can allow for the shopping bag to be ‘float’ with each n every scroll in order to simplify the drag n drop process. The refresh icon in the shopping bag can also be made more prominent.
Ya it’s a really great idea, I had never seen such features in live websites, I have seen such things in demo projects only, So its great initiative, And ya the things I like is drag and drop and Item Details and the way of presentation is good, but there are lots of design and HTML issues. I think they need a good graphics designer..!! Apart from that the way site made is really helpful and with great performance.
[...] the bigger question is that unlike grocery shopping (which is a chore activity), buying branded shoes is still considered as lifestyle shopping [...]
storrz really is a good venture but i personally feel that shopping becomes a little difficult i came across one site in chennai http://www.myexpressbuy.com which has more user friendly options to search
and also to search brand wise, price wise etc.
but this only available in chennai i hope they come across to bangalore.
