MyDuniya – Send File attachments, Email via mobile (sans GPRS)

Constraint breeds creativity and MyDuniya’s services are a good example of that – if you want to apply for a job or need to send an important email, you need Internet connection (or gprs, if you are using mobile).myduniya

While GPRS remains costlier, MyDuniya gets past the Internet connectivity challenge and enables users to send email, files etc via sms.

Once registered, MyDunyia users can upload files and while uploading you have to give label name (to be done on the site, of course), which will be uniquely identified (e.g Ashish.file). When ever you want to forward this file to anyone, sms <label name> <emailid> (e.g Ashish.file ashish@pluggd.in) and the file will be sent as an attachment (emailed on your behalf.)

Other features include:

  • Ability to create and send business card
  • create/join IM/chat room
  • search wikipedia (WIKI <keyword> to 53695)
  • send emails (<email id> <message> to 53695)

Overall, very utilitarian set of services that one can perform sans gprs (sms costs Rs. 1/only)

MyDuniya has enterprise services too that enables enterprises/web portals to mobilise their data and extend their reach to the mobile universe. Their platform support two way interaction..

We provide PUSH and PULL API’s to interact with existing services. A small SME with out webservice also can interact with his customers. The data will be saved in MyDuniya domain. It is easy to configure. An enterprise can send General information, send personalized information, capture the data, capture the feedback, can counduct poll etc.

MyDuniya is currently available in Bangalore only – so Bangaloreans, do give this a try and share your feedback.

      1) All the services are free only for Airtel, others need points-half the market lost
      2) I need to register 2wice, mobile and verify through email.
      3) Why do i keep uploading all my files on to MyDunia site, half the time i don’t remember where i keep them on my PC, forget remembering the file name which i uploaded on this site.
      4) Why i do i configure alerts here , if i can do it on my mobile calendar
      5) along with this , looks like it has some msging communities-have to stil chk this.

      Dear Phaniraj,

      1. Yes you are right, As of now free services are only on Airtel. We are in talk with other telcos. Testing is going on with few. We are trying for 1/- short code, so only is the delay.

      2. Registration is only once. E-mail verification is just to confirm your e-mail. We are going to use your e-mail id, when we send e-mail on behalf of you. When you exchange the contact information, the business card will come as VCF to your e-mail.

      3. We are requesting customers, to keep only one file, which you want to send when you are on move. Files like resume, brochure, presentation.

      4. I do agree with all the mobiles got Calendar feature. MyDuniya alert feature will allow you set the alert to others also. If you plan to have get together, you can keep set the alert for every one in the group. This way you can save lot of time. It really worked very well for all our meetings.

      5. Please check the other services and give the feedback waiting for your response.

Thank you very much for the feedback!

      With Regards
