I think all the above mentioned startups can take off given the environment is very conducive given easy availability of internet. But the primal pain-point is revenue. Once needs to have a good (read smart) revenue model.

Well , web 2.0 is not all set to go in india for the time being.
….. poor broadband access and plus google earth like value additions won’t bring any additional benefit to them. They need to keem themselvz simple and fast …

True , this is a basic problem in all the idea revolving around UGC .
Unrestricted, uncensored and cheap internet access is a must have for UGC to work . but in India internet access for the most part is done through Cyber Caffe where connection is shared and environment is not conducive for this .

Oh yes. and that’s where I expect startups to understand that pure UGC doesn’t work – adhysteria has tried all sort of web2.0 mashups, but where is the content? how do they plan to add content is my basic qn.
