Phonethics is a Mumbai based startup that specializes in character based content (characters with a viral marketing appeal) for the web and mobile platform .

The team has created a set of cool characters with fully evolved storylines:

• Farmaao Jaan and Miyan Fenku – street poets with a unique north indian flavor
• Bai Malaai – the sexy bai (and an undercover journalist working as household help in the homes of famous Bollywood stars)
• Bhakt Harvakt – Religious avatar
• ..and more

“These characters are derived from aspects of the varied Indian culture and represent different content verticals. So a Mian Fekoo with his counterpart Furmaoo Jaan brings poetry and fun while Indiyeah Singh is a Sikh with a sense of humour and penchant for trivia related to discoveries and inventions by Indians. ‘Bai Malai’ blogs avidly as an undercover journalist working as household help in the homes of famous Bollywood stars and Madhuri a dancing eunuch is a big hit across video sharing websites like Metacafe, Revver and Youtube.”

Phonethics is also the company behind Rahul Bose starrer (and first film to premiere on Mobile phones in India) ‘Ctrl+Alt+Del’; and also powers Reliance’s Pokkit Buddies channel and Pantaloon’s Pokkit Mazza.
