mChek, the mobile payment startup has become one of the first payment product globally to be certified as PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry, Data Security Standard) 1.2 compliant.
The latest version released by the PCI Security Standards Council is the culmination of two years of feedback and suggestions from its industry stakeholders and is designed to clarify and ease implementation of the foremost standard for cardholder account security.
This is an important milestone for mChek as the security certification does give them an edge over their competitors – and most importantly, a security ‘stamp’ n help them break the mindset barrier (of customers as well as banks).
Rediff goes mobile
Rediff has launched a no-frills mobile version that can be downloaded and stored in a GPRS
enabled mobile handset.
The service is ad-free and will be monetized later (via ads).
