Learnings from the West – Speech by NRN

Came across NRN’s speech on “What India can learn from the West”.
Few interesting point he has made in the speech:

  • Respect for public good
  • Will to proactively solve our own problems
  • Accountability
  • Dignity of labor
  • Professionalism in dealings
  • Independent in thinking
  • Display intellectual honesty

The speech has some interesting quotes too:

Idleness travels very slowly, and poverty soon overtakes it.
The greatest of faults is to be conscious of none
There is enough in this world for everyone’s need, but not enough for everyone’s greed

I completely agree with NRN that we Indians are good at keeping the house clean, but when it comes to the streets/city/country, we are a filthy lot!

By the way, I am just wondering if Infoscions follow his “Independent in thinking” funda, what will happen to the quality of projects that Infy undertakes? (the service projects where you just give full control of your back to the client and let them do what they wanna do with it!! :)
