Instablogs is India based blog network with close to 130 blogs and clocks >2 million unique visitors per month.
As far as the site UI is concerned, it takes a little while to understand the overall site flow (and what the heck are they about), as they syndicate contents from newspaper sites (like Guardian, AP etc) as well as have their in-house bloggers to write content.
Instablogs recently launched couple of interesting features – a MyYahoo like module which one can customize (can add modules only from Instablogs’ sister sites), and the homepage has been revamped to show latest updates/news from all the prime categories Instablogs focuses on (like technology, sports, health etc)
Instablogs, as Ankit (Founder/CEO) mentioned to me, has been able to create a network of quality bloggers who cover events as-they happen – and unlike other blog networks, Instablogs has been able to successfully attract bloggers from non-US geographies.
While I liked the overall implementation and the fact that Instablogs has been able to create some good niche blogs, I don’t think a walled-garden approach towards content syndication helps.
Give InstaBlogs a spin. What’s your take? Do you see this “blogging+media” syndication the next big thing?

I think UI is excellent. It covers all features in managed way and readers have power to customize UI.
I think they have successfully managed to bring out what the user actually wants – customize the homepage. this is also very timely as all the big networks like BBC are also pulling it over by giving more power to users. Instablogs is using its privilege of being a new network that can experiment with any thing to make it the next big thing…i think new vistas has been opened for other networks as well but this Network here is doing some serious ass kicking.
