MAD-GK : Get CAT/GMAT questions on your Mobile

MAD-GK is a Mumbai based startup (from ex-Wipro employees) that is offering mobile learning content like CAT/CET/GMAT/GRE/SAT on your cell phone. madgk

MAD-GK has partnered with CareerLauncher and ZipCash for content and advertising respectively.

The application is preloaded with 400 questions and in future will be able to live stream via GPRS (for now, you don’t need any kind of connectivity to run the app, as it’s preloaded with qns.).

The application does solves a major need of ‘learning-on-the-move’ and will see a good adoption by the student crowd (the startup claims to have 5K downloads within the first few week of launch).

What’s your take on MAD-GK?

      Hi Raxit,
      I appreciate your queries.
The size varies from 90Kb – 140Kb depending on the phone model.
It is absolutely free of cost for the students as the content is sponsored by Career Launcher and the application is made free by ZipCash.
It will work on the phones and models listed on the website www(dot)madmobilesoftware(dot)com but technically all MIDP 2.0 Phones which are the most used phones among the students. (Not necessarily costlier) – Aim is to provide free on-the-move education.

I would also like to correct Ashish in terms that the Application does NOT require any connectivity like GPRS for the application to run once it is installed.

You can download the application by visiting the website and transfer it using a datacable and also download the application via GPRS by smsing INFO MAD to 56677.

Do keep a lookout for more applications to come.
      Your queries will be entertained.

      Hi,

This concept sounds quite interesting. It is more of like m-learning.
In an expensive education world, it is free of cost. That’s appreciable effort for our student fraternity. Free learning on mobile gives you a sigh of relief. Also as it does not require any GPRS connectivity to use the application, it saves time and money.
I would definitely recommend about it to all my friends, who will be suprised to use this mobile based learning.
I still have one doubt in my mind. What if i want to upgrade my questions and download more of such questions. How do I do it?

This is for MAD-GK.. Looking at your startup.. it a fantastic concept.. but may i know why u had chosen specifically the internet/gprs route in mobile rather than SMS and its combination with GPRS… The avg age of a person attempting CAt/GRE/GMAT in india is 21-25 in which most of them falls under student catefory… and hopes would not be able to afford the cost of the mobile that supports gprs/net…ofcourse technology is changing.. but.. may i know the the present senario?? and how many years u estimated that u have to wait to reach the max target?? awaiting..

    5. Seems interesting I hope I could get more specific infos over it.
