Browser war gets heated – Will Firefox overtake IE7?

While IE 7 reports 3 million downloads in 4 days, Firefox was downloaded by 2 million users in 24 hours!! (a sure sign that it will surpass IE7 if not now, then in future).

An interesting coincidence about Firefox is that

  • Firefox 1.0 – was downloaded 1 million times in the first 24 hrs.
  • Firefox 1.5 - was downloaded 1.5 million times in the first 24 hrs.
  • Firefox 2.0 – was downloaded 2 million times in the first 24 hrs.

Maybe they should call their next version 10.0? and see 10 million downloads in the first 24 hours? :)

Interestingly, have a look at the unofficial sites of ie7 and fryfox.com

yup. i knew that. But it doesn’t matter coz even after 3 or 4 years if u compare future versions firefox or IE with present version of maxthon, u still can see the gap these browsers have to fill in. Anyway there are people who read it even if the post is 5 years old. :)
