On the move and need quick review of a movie or a book? Hop onto ReviewBag, a meta search engine for reviews on books and movies.
SMS “RBAG movie or book name” to 56677 and ReviewBag will send you a SMS with average rating of the movie + ratings from different sources (for instance, for movies, they fetch the data from indiaglitz.com, ibnlive, nowrunning etc).
Before you jump and say, what’s the big deal and why would one need this, ReviewBag‘s bigger goal is to license it’s software to several content/opinion portals (like mouthshut/burrp etc).
The service has jagged edges and needs to really improve on keyword understanding (for e.g. outliers doesn’t work). Do give ReviewBag a dekho and share your opinion.

Yo, RBAG, hope ya’ll are listening – just tried the service a few times, pretty neat! A few suggestions: enable an “M” for more – once you have someone emotionally committed to reading some reviews, they’ll want to read more. Also, make sure you try to handle book titles that are also movies in a more logical fashion.

To disambiguate between books and movies with same title, add the keyword “book” or “movie” to your query. We bias the engine to send movie reviews if there is a trade off to be made.
