If you have meta search engines for jobs and airlines, why not for matrimony sites?
Bandhan is a Pune based startup that has launched a meta search engine for matrimony sites in India (shaadi/Jeevasathi/SimplyMarry and regional matrimony sites as well).
Bandhan crawls matrimony sites, extracts data and presents in a structured format (matrimony sites do take care of data categorization very well).
Bandhan can potentially become the starting point for matrimony search, but I am not sure how sustainable is this business . Will it work on lead generation model?

Interesting, I think this would be a new way of doing searches in one of India’s key internet savvy areas (like Bixee)

Product is great. But I think biz model would be a problem
as I don’t see any lead model. As lead models work when the client
you are generating leads for is making money out of transactions.
But i am sure their must be some good rev models apart from ad sales consedering the growing size of the matrimony space.

one potential business model for them can be crawl the matirmonial sites for publicly listed profile with pics and present them as a ticker like hotornot.com . with functionalities like vote ,grade,flirt and of course marry . it can be a good idea and can make good money through ads
Firstly kudos to splendid effort.Now No Tensions about which matrimony site is good …where to register and all. Do your ground work first.See where you find matching profiles the most and register there once.. Cool concept.
great. i like search engines. they save me from the inconvenience of having to register on several websites. hope than bandhan.com will give me results from several matrimony websites at one place.
recently i heard of phulki.com at this website and i am enjoying its services. this search engine for music has made it so easy for me to search and play music online.
