asklaila has launched the mobile version of their local search product and the service can be accessed via sms as well as wap.

To use the sms product, send your query to 58989, one can also set default city (so that you don’t have to add city name in the query text again and again) , send free-form queries – the only caveat here is that the service is available to Vodafone and Reliance subscribers only.

To use the search on wap, hop to m.asklaila.com.

Do give these services a dekho and share your feedback.

Who do you think has an edge in the local search market? Could LBS be a differentiator?

As said earlier, Asklaila is taking in addrs of each and every corner of shops in local mkt. This is great. They are manually entering those shops address despite website. That manually process gives extra edge to stay in the competition.

As there are frequent shop shifting happens, i request them to update accordingly.

  2. [...] MetroMela will launch the wap site and a downloadable app very soon (asklaila has already done that) [...]
