thats great that you are talking about the twitter api,a good example of searching with the twitter api is on twiogle.com because you can search on twitter and google at the same time.

Hey,

Twitter would obviously continue to grow in India very similar to the global phenomenon, as it is straight forward to signup and easy to follow from a mobile device on the move. I would like to see more Indian entreprenuers and technocrats on twitter.

Or maybe we should also check the number using Twitter via SMS, website and other tools. Number of signups is also cool but many signup just to checkout and then die. So Number of tweets is a more dependable number to be considered for stats.

I somehow don’t think that unique visitors is the number we should be looking at to judge twitters spread across India. Signups is the correct parameter OR the total tweets sent from India. I was just going through a site the other day that gives you a breakup of tweets being sent from different regions of the world(another of those sites using twitter API), India was nowhere on the map. I was reading the other day that till the end of October 2008 India had only 3000 active Twitter users (hard to digest but can be true)
