Rediff launches Train Fare Search

Rediff has launched Train Fare search that enables users to check availability of seats with fares, check PNR status, get detailed schedule of trains including real-time arrival and departure status by using a simple search engine query.

I believe Rediff is right in it’s positioning as a utlity search engine (few days back they launched product search).

The site is nicely done (very neat interface) and as of now, it doesn’t allow ticket booking (Indian Railways still hasn’t opened up the API).

ClearTrip has also launched it’s train search service.

Your opinion?

      Hi –

I am using govt’s IRCTC’s website comfortably for ALL train related
usage(search-select-book).Why one would use two different websites for searching the trains and then ticket booking(as of now booking is available through IRCTC only) ?.

      Suggestion:
It would be helpful when you post the link of the product (Here rediff train search) being reviewed.

The logos are ideal place to put the link.

Here is the link for fellow readers.

    4. Check out 99Trains.com — it provides Free PNR updates as SMS alerts delivered to your cell phone. So the next time you have a Wait Listed ticket, all you need to do is plug in your PNR and the mobile number at http://www.99Trains.com and you will get SMSs each time your reservation status changes.

      Cheers!

I have not seen such a good site which has so many features in a single page . The better way to search Indian trains looks great and it open fast, no pop-up, user friendly. every information in a single page . this concept is good and some of the features like calendar, train running day has not come in a single website in this reviews. the most important features i have seen in this site that if the user does not know the station code then also he can see all the trains and it is only website which have a drop menu box for the important station from where you can choose the station name and also it has a date calendar from you can choose the date and it show the running day of the train so that you can know which day of the week this train is running. the other most important feature i have seen in this website that it show the train which does not have the reservation coach for the benefit of the user and they are showing the passenger train also which is also not available in any website.

Pros: all the features which user need, open fast, user friendly, good look and interactive, update data regularly, new features
