ApnaLoan has partnered with Reliance money to provide information about personal finance on their website.

As a part of the tie-up, content on the Easy Loan, EMI Calculators and FAQ sections on the Reliance Money website will be provided and powered exclusively by Apnaloan.com

ICICI: DishTV

ICICI has partnered with DishTV to launch ICICIACTIVE, an interactive banking service that will enable Dish TV viewers to access information on ICICI Bank products and services from their TV set.

The current content partnership is mainly aimed at providing information, but I believe, conducting transactions seems to be the logical step in the future.

Isn’t DTH a big competitor to Internet?

“DTH a big competitor to Internet”

I think the most logical thing would be to allow people to access Internet through their TV sets! Imagine, a person will be able to read News, check mails, Chat, shop on eBay, conduct netbanking transactions, and do everything that can be done on the Net right on the TV. What is required after all? TV serves as the big screen monitor, you can use your TV remote as a mouse to browse the links like how you use tab keys and an onscreen keyboard or a customized set top box remote can serve as the keyboard for data entry.

If that happens, DTH won’t be a competitor to Internet, it will serve as the most convenient access point to the Internet! Broadband is still not up to the mark, Mobile has its own share of problems when it comes to Internet access like small screen and Carrier guarded gateways, connections are slow and 3G is no where in sight. With 124 mn TV households in India, TV can be the best place to surf the web.
