MoneyControl revamps UI : Takes Web2.0 Route

Web18′s cashcow, MoneyControl (receives about five million unique visitors a month and 300 million page views.) has revamped the user interface and has added a good doze of AJAX.

The new UI is quite appealing and the registration process too has been revamped (and looks like they have implemented

SSO too, across all the web18 sites?). There are few interesting changes that Moneycontrol has made

  • maximum of five display ads on the first scroll of the home page (earlier it was 7)
  • Homepage is focused on content (and ads are moved to inside pages)
  • More real estate for sponsored ads [via afaqs]

In general, Web18 has a strong focus on the design and the underlying theme for most of their sites is to bring in more web2.0ish themes.

What’s your take on the new look?
