Indiatimes has launched local search service in partnership with OnYoMo.
The service can be accessed via Indiatimes’ wap site or by sending “ASK <query>” to 58888.
This partnership is surely a great win for OnYoMo, as they will get a substantial reach (Indiatimes’ 58888 is one of the most successful shortcode, and is a great example of how traditional media can create new revenue stream, by leveraging new channel).
Do you use Indiatimes’ wap portal?

On searching for desktop browser(firefox 3.0), it asked me to download wml file
@Dheeraj – the service is on WAP and SMS. If you are on web directly use onyomo.com
Good to see mobile services finding traction outside of the operators. While local search is at best a 10-12% share of the entire mobile search pie, this will encourage users to explore services on their phones other than those advertised by operators alone.
It’s ok that mobile web is growing but as of now,i personally(and i think, mostly) don’t find it comfortable browsing web through mobile and same answer for indiatimes wap portal
