Lightspeed Venture Partners has closed its eighth fund with $800 million in commitments.

The new fund’s large size is a result of the firm’s increasing investment in clean technology and the firm’s growth, particularly in China, India and Israel, as well as the U.S.

Lightspeed maintains a strong focus on seed and early stage deals, with seed stage deals making up about 20% to 30% of deals done over the past two funds.

In India, Lightspeed ventures has invested in asklaila, mercantila and Tutorvista.
