Google India/Youtube Grabs 2 years Exclusive Web Rights to IPL
Google India, as reported earlier (Watch IPL – III on Youtube for Free [Live Streaming]) has signed a deal with IPL for exclusive 2 years web rights.
Worldwide, this is the first major sporting event to be live-streamed on YouTube and as part of the deal, YouTube will also offer users a exclusive unique feed not available on any other media platform of all IPL matches.
A milestone deal for the Indian online world!
YouTube India is changing the rules of the game and will leave the ‘text’ content partners biting dust. For companies like Yahoo/Cricinfo, competing on pageviews numbers would be tough – as the world is moving to ‘real time’ live sports watching.
What do you think?

Dear Ashish,
Well its good and the first deal in INDIA. But in our country max interested viewers are from towns and villages and the 2nd level comes to cities, people in cities do watch cricket but cant watch live streaming in offices.
So basically there wont be that much of difference this time, as people try to view it online, might get failed of our internet service providers service, and can get back to TV or yahoo cricket for live updates
But this is also a stepping stone for all other media to concentrate on online from now so that at some time later there will be a drastic change in ISP’s because to show online content one needs to have a good speed and for that good speed ISP’s will fight to provide the best speeds and thats how india internet can grow up slow and steady
What you people think?
Thanks & Regards
Sai Pothuri
Hi Sai,
you are absolutely right.
Internet speed in India is still not that good and specially for live streaming.. it won’t be that good
Yes the other point that in the near future ISPs will fight to provide high speed connectivity could be a hope.
Thanks
